Sea of Remnants Overview
Sea of Remnants is an upcoming turn-based adventure game developed by Joker Studio and published by NetEase, set to release on mobile, PC, and PlayStation 5. Set in a turbulent, decaying world, players take on the role of an amnesiac sailor who, alongside a mysterious girl, embarks on a perilous journey toward the cursed Sea of Remnants—a place where each failed attempt strips away a part of one’s identity.
Blending multiple genres into a unified experience, Sea of Remnants combines elements of adventure RPG, simulation, survival-building, and turn-based strategy. Unlike many titles that prioritize a single genre and treat the rest as secondary, the game integrates these mechanics into a cohesive system. Players will engage in strategic combat, upgrade and customize their ships, build fleets, and explore uncharted waters, all while navigating a richly layered world shaped by puppet-themed visuals.
Sea of Remnants Gameplay
Sea of Remnants is an adventure game that weaves together survival base-building and turn-based strategy, with each element playing a substantial role in the overall experience. Players can engage in strategic, turn-based combat, upgrade and customize their ships, build expansive fleets, and chart a course through uncharted waters. Along the way, they’ll interact with NPCs, navigate treacherous weather systems, and encounter ancient or isolated tribes scattered across the sea.
At its core, the game aims to simulate life at sea—albeit one driven by the looming objective of reaching a cursed and mysterious realm. When the journey becomes too taxing, players can dock at Orbtopia, a bustling pirate city that serves as a central hub for respite and growth. There, they can refit and upgrade their ships, craft outfits for their crew, partner with NPCs to co-manage shops, or train under masters to unlock new skills. It also offers a variety of side activities, including fishing, cooking, and even mahjong.
