Mass Effect 5 Overview
The upcoming, untitled fifth installment of BioWare’s legendary Mass Effect franchise has been confirmed to be in the works, but very little has been revealed. Project Director Mike Gamble announced that the game was in pre-production early in 2025.
Mass Effect 5, as it’s referred to for the time being, will succeed the polarizing Mass Effect Andromeda and the well-received Mass Effect Legendary Edition, a remastered compilation of the original trilogy.
Mass Effect 5 Gameplay
Nothing is set in stone for Mass Effect 5, but it will most likely follow the franchise’s third-person action-RPG formula. The series is renowned for its intricate storylines, profound character relationships, and impactful player decisions.
2021’s Mass Effect Legendary Edition saw BioWare improve the original trilogy’s moment-to-moment gameplay with changes like reworked controls, enhanced gun control, upgraded enemy AI, rebalanced weapons, and more. Fans can likely expect the developers to continue in this direction of improving upon a proven foundation.
