Lords of the Fallen 2 Overview
Lords of the Fallen 2—technically the third entry in the Lords of the Fallen series—is a direct sequel to the 2023 reboot. It was officially revealed during Gamescom 2025’s Opening Night Live and is scheduled for release in 2026 on PC (Epic Games Store exclusive), PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Roughly a hundred years after the events of the 2023 reboot, Lords of the Fallen 2 starts with the realms of the living and the dead converging in a kingdom fractured by Umbral corruption. As the Lamp Bearer, the player must traverse these two realms to confront dire threats, including deity-level foes. As seen in the reveal trailer, death seemingly reshapes the world; defeat leads to a darker environment, which could imply that the world’s state is tied to the player’s demise.
The sequel retains the dual-realm traversal of the first game while introducing new systems, such as full-shared progression co-op from day one, optional PvP, and customizable game modifiers.

Lords of the Fallen 2 Gameplay
Lords of the Fallen 2 is said to offer multiple game modes and improve upon its predecessor’s structure by introducing more optionality for different playstyles. Like the first game, co-op is a major gameplay pillar, as it will include full shared-progression. This means that players can progress together seamlessly across both single-player and co-op modes. PvP, however, is optional.
The sequel is also reportedly more intense and varied in tone. Reports describe it as darker, more brutal, with bloody executions and uncompromising violence. Gameplay, though, is expected to feature the return of the dual-world concept, including the Umbral realm, but expanded to be more dangerous and extensive.
