Tekken 8 Development Team Apologizes for Season 3 Misfire
Tekken 8 Fixes Some Overpowered Bugs

Tekken 8 received an emergency patch today, March 26, to address critical glitches and bugs that are currently negatively affecting gameplay. These issues have been present since the first major balance update for Season 3, which was met with widespread criticism from the Tekken community.
In the statement released on the official Tekken website, the development team has pointed to fixing "critical bugs and unintended behaviors" such as a glitch that allows Feng Wei to perform multiple Heat Smash moves in a single round. Other unintended behaviors, such as those with moves performed by Heihachi, Lidia, and Jack-8, have also been addressed today.

Alongside these fixes, the development team will use this patch to focus on "reports with strong community response and limited scope of impact," determined in large part by the game’s official Discord feedback server. The team has stated that the Tekken 8 Feedback Portal, a Discord server that functions as a direct line of communication between the development team and the community, will be a major consideration for updates moving forward.
Tekken’s Developers Apologize for the Oversight and Plan a Better Future

Tekken 8’s development team has also addressed the massive backlash surrounding the launch of Season 3, recognizing "that the battle experience we intended to deliver has not fully met your expectations." The development team has promised to gradually address gameplay factors and balancing decisions that lead to one-sided, oppressive gameplay, while continuing the Season 3 direction of refining offense and defense around the Heat system.
The Tekken team will be delivering more updates for the game, which will center on larger balance-oriented changes and performance tuning for the Heat system. Balance patches for the game are planned for mid-April and late spring, and both will center on adjustments to the battle system and individual character performance on a comprehensive level.
The Tekken Community Has Played These Games Before

Following the announcement of the upcoming Tekken 8 patch and the development team’s intentions for the game’s direction moving forward, the community reacted with bewilderment and caution. While not nearly as negative as the reception to the launch of Season 3 a week ago, players across social media are still lamenting that these bugs were allowed to launch untested in the first place and that these fixes arrived more than a week after they were found.
Reception amongst the game’s top competitors and talent has been mixed as well, with players like back-to-back Esports World Cup champion Lim "Ulsan" Soo-hoon expressing excitement for the changes coming to the game. Other top players, such as accomplished European Tekken player and Lee/Reina main Vincent "Super Akouma" Homan, meanwhile, have expressed frustrations with the notion that the development team would be mainly addressing the Heat System when most of the player base’s frustrations extend beyond it.
A common sentiment among the playerbase, however, is that these changes mirror the fixes done to the infamous Season 2 patch a year ago, prompting players across social media to call this version of the game "Season 2.5." This sentiment has been echoed among content creators and notable players like K-Wiss and TheMainManSWE, who have both pointed out that the approach to Season 3 eerily resembles the roadmap that Bandai Namco and the Tekken team took in fixing Season 2.
While the emergency patch releasing today is the first of many ongoing fixes for Tekken 8, it remains to be seen if the Tekken team’s efforts will win back the good graces of the playerbase.

Emergency patch tonight and adjustments in mid April. I don't know what's going to happen. They say they're still focusing on heat when 99% of the changes from this patch that people didn't like weren't even heat related - @SuperAkouma
