Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Gameplay
Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is a DLC expansion of action RPG Elden Ring. It is set in an expansive open-world map and played from the third-person perspective. Developed by FromSoftware, Elden Ring plays similarly to games under the Soulsborne and Soulslike category such as the Dark Souls series, Bloodborne, and Sekiro. Elden Ring's gameplay involves roleplaying (RPG) elements where players create their own character from the ground up and level up their stats, skills, gear and more. Its combat involves strategic ranged and melee battles; and open-world exploration across the map wherein players can complete a myriad of quests and challenges, as well as explore different areas, dungeons, catacombs, and more.
In this game, fighting is skill-based and typically involves tactics and methodical strategy, with heavy emphasis on learning enemy attack patterns, as well as enemy timing and positioning. In line with this, players can engage in co-op play and PvP combat. Shadow of the Erdtree is set in an entirely new region simply known as the Land of Shadow, a mysterious and dark realm filled with vast maps, dungeons, and enemies. The Land of Shadow is roughly the size of Limgrave, the first accessible area of Elden RIng, and is shrouded by the Erdtree's shadow.
Shadow of the Erdtree features a new system called the Shadow Realm Blessing that affects the game's progression system. New consumables called the Scadutree Fragments are also introduced, which are used to strengthen the player character's blessing and increases damage output while decreasing incoming damage the player character receives in the Land of Shadows.
