Edge of Memories Overview
Edge of Memories is an action role-playing game developed by Midgar Studio and published by Nacon, scheduled for release in 2026. As a new installment from the creators of Edge of Eternity, this title introduces players to a fresh narrative set in the same universe. The sequel is fueled by the creative vision of renowned JRPG luminaries, including Chrono Trigger and Sea of Stars composer Yasunori Mitsuda, NieR lyricist Emi Evans, Xenoblade Chronicles character designer Raita Kazama, and Final Fantasy XV combat designer Mitsuru Yokoyama.
The continent of Avaris was a once-vibrant land now threatened by a plague known as the Corrosion. This affliction transforms living beings into grotesque abominations, which pushes the land’s nomadic people toward extinction. As Eline, a Soul Whisperer endowed with the ability to control the Corrosion within herself, players must work together with allies such as Ysoris, her mentor, and Kanta, a shaman prince, to halt the spread of this blight.
Edge of Memories features a real-time combat system, which allows players to execute combos by combining rapid strikes with powerful techniques. Ally skills are customizable, and using them wisely is crucial for overcoming enemies. Additionally, players can harness Eline’s inner rage to transform into a Berserker and unleash potent attacks that can turn the tide in battle.

Edge of Memories Gameplay
Transitioning from the turn-based combat of its predecessor, Edge of Memories features a dynamic, real-time action combat. Players must master Eline’s abilities, execute combos with her two companions, and utilize the Berserk power that lies dormant within her to overcome adversaries.
Edge of Memories also offers players the opportunity to explore diverse environments, from the sandy shores of Sarlah-Durah to the snow-capped peaks of Kezal Mountains. Players be warned, however, for the landscapes transform as the Corrosion spreads, creating new paths and altering previously visited areas. Players can traverse these vast lands atop a feline companion known as a Nekaroo, whose agility allows access to otherwise unreachable areas.
The game’s visuals draw inspiration from Japanese animation, brought to life using Unreal Engine 5.
