Beyond Good and Evil 2 Overview
Beyond Good and Evil 2 is an upcoming video game prequel to 2003 action-adventure game, Beyond Good & Evil. Beyond Good and Evil 2 is being developed by Ubisoft Montpellier and published by Ubisoft. It was initially announced in 2008 and became re-revealed at Ubisoft's E3 conference in 2017. Development on the game has been shrouded in mystery, with minimal news from Ubisoft regarding the game. At the time of writing, Beyond Good and Evil 2 has yet to announce its release date and target platforms.
In 2023, Beyond Good and Evil 2 creative director Emile Morel died suddenly at age 40. The following year in October 2024, Ubisoft confirmed that it hasn't stopped development on Beyond Good & Evil 2, with news of game designer Fawzi Mesmar becoming Beyond Good and Evil 2's creative director. The game serves as prequel to the events that take place in the original Beyond Good & Evil (2003), which follows the adventures of Jade who unravels a sinister alien conspiracy, taking players on a narrative-filled action-adventure journey through the world called Hillys.
Beyond Good and Evil 2 Gameplay
Beyond Good and Evil 2 is an action adventure game that takes place in an open world setting, played from the third-person perspective. It features RPG mechanics and a character creation system, planetary system, dynamic melee and weapon-based combat, quests and missions, and more.
In this game, players fight enemies on different planets or out in space. Combat occurs in massively different scales including close-quarter fights that take place inside a hidden temple, as well as wide-open fights that take place in the uncharted edges of the planetary system. The game features single-player gameplay and online co-op gameplay.
