Gameplay revolves around commanding the U.S.S. Voyager as it travels across 12 sectors of the Delta Quadrant. Players manage ship systems, resources, and crew operations while repairing damaged sections and reconstructing facilities needed for the journey home. Research unlocks new technologies and improved layouts that strengthen the ship and boost crew morale, including the option to pursue risky advancements such as Borg technology.
Exploration involves scanning celestial bodies for resources and encountering points of interest throughout the region. Ship-to-ship combat and away missions require careful crew assignments based on individual talents, with battle stations allocated during engagements. Combat is directed from the bridge through offensive and defensive maneuvers that target enemy ship systems, while its “What if?” scenarios and rogue-like elements introduce different situations and outcomes in each run.
