Sea of Remnants Gameplay
Exploration
Sea of Remnants is an open-world action RPG game where players explore the oceans in search of the titular "Sea of Remnants" a mystical realm full of treasures. The ocean of Sea of Remnants will have players discovering lost islands and tribes, navigating treacherous weather systems, and fight other ships in naval combat.
The game mixes exploring the seas with exploring Orbtopia, the game's central hub and main city which transforms as the game progresses. Players can also interact with NPCs, take on sidequests, and find random battle encounters while on Orbtopia. Along the way, players will also sail into different caves and dungeons full of puzzles to solve and treasure to find while exploring the area.
Combat and Customization
Sea of Remnants weaves together classic turn-based RPG combat on the ground with real-time naval combat when sailing on the ocean. The game's turn-based combat is based on similar games such as Persona, while adding its own systems such as "Reinforcement Points," which function as skill points to increase attack damage and modify character attributes. Players can also eliminate weaker enemies on the overworld in one hit, reducing the need to engage in long-term combat during every encounter.
The game's real-time naval combat requires players to properly move their ships around enemy attacks while repositioning to land shots from the ship's cannon. Ships can be modified and customized at Orbtopia, and upgrades will generally improve the ship's durability, performance, such as its speed and maneuverability, and weapon damage. New parts for the ship, such as new weapons, will also be available for purchase.
Crew Recruitment
Sea of Remnants allows players to recruit over 300 puppetfolk to their pirate crew, each with their own unique backstory, skills, and specializations. These will be made available to the player as the game progresses, and different dialogue options, faction allegiances, and story moments will affect which crew members can be recruited.
Sea of Remnants Story Plot
In Sea of Remnants, you play as an amnesiac sailor embarking on a perilous voyage with a mysterious girl, both drawn to the infamous, cursed Sea of Remnants—a place rumored to offer immense riches at the cost of one's very identity each time one fails. The sea itself leading there is formed from the memories of lost sailors, shaping its eerie magenta currents, dangerous islands, and monstrous lairs.
To survive, players must build strong bonds with a diverse pirate crew, assembling specialized teams to tackle the unpredictable challenges of the open sea. Along the way, you'll upgrade your ship with new parts and weapons, preparing it to face both natural and supernatural threats that stand between you and your final destination.
