Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble is a free-to-play mobile multiplayer arena shooter that sets the iconic heroes in a combat simulation hosted by the eccentric Captain Qwark. It features fast-paced, real-time online battles across a variety of short-format modes, including the 8-player elimination mode Total Rumble and the objective-driven Bolt Rush and Blast Ball.

The main objective for every player who takes on the role of a legendary hero from across the franchise is to successfully compete within this virtual training ground—which utilizes iconic locations like Megalopolis and Torren IV as battle arenas—to prove their skills and ultimately earn the title of a Galactic Ranger.
This setup humorously allows characters and weapons from different eras and dimensions of the Ratchet & Clank universe to coexist and battle one another in a free-for-all, multiplayer format, justifying the game's focus on short, competitive matches.
