Project Spectrum is a horror first-person-shooter set in a world haunted by a mysterious "reality-warping" force called the Ember. Read on to learn how it plays, what it's about, and everything else we know so far.

Project Spectrum Gameplay
Project Spectrum is a squad-based FPS game that sets Agents against other Agents as well as terrifying creatures created by the Ember. Agents come in armed with tactical gear including thermal cameras and customizable armor and weapons. In order to hunt down these monstrosities, players must venture into unstable locations touched by the Ember, also known as Ember Zones. These Ember Zones are rife with supernatural threats and rifts in reality that can rapidly deplete a player’s Sanity.
Random objects can also be found in one’s vicinity which can be used to create improvised weapons. Coordinating with teammates and keeping an eye on one’s ever-changing surroundings may even save players from falling prey to the Ember, which can transform players into an Executioner, a multi-legged creature that stands opposed to Agents.
When a player is turned into an Executioner, they gain the ability to traverse almost any terrain, from climbing trees, scaling buildings, to squeezing into tight spaces. These creatures gain a new tactical advantage they can leverage against Agents.
Project Spectrum Story Plot
Project Spectrum is set in an unknown country, in a world where a mysterious force known as the Ember is growing into its power, bending reality and overtaking the world as we know it through violence, transmutation, and its inexplicable ability to poison humans' psyches. Players, as Agents, are deployed to Ember Zones in order to mitigate the damage done by the Ember by containing and dispatching the threats in the area.
Not much has been confirmed about the overarching plot of Project Spectrum. However, the story teaser shows the aftermath of a battle, in which a traumatized and grief-stricken Agent struggles to remember the details of an operation that resulted in the deaths of their comrades. It revealed the far-reaching psychological effects of the Ember as it turns friends against one another and warps everything it touches beyond logic and recognition.
