Pax Dei Story Plot
Due to its early-access nature and its status as a survival game, Pax Dei’s story and narrative are largely left unwritten. Players are free to explore and claim their corner of the world, crafting their homestead and the tools to build them. Players are encouraged to socialize among them and form clans to forge their own stories as they carve out their legacy in a massive, medieval-inspired world.
Pax Dei Gameplay
Pax Dei’s gameplay revolves around the standard-fare survival game cycle of exploration, gathering, and crafting. To add to that, players are allowed to claim plots of land as their own, upon which only they are allowed to build, craft, and store their resources unless they have clan mates. All tools, crafting stations, building parts, consumables, weapons, and armor are player-made, requiring players to either set out and find their own resources, or be sociable and form groups to survive.
To explain Pax Dei’s crafting system further, players are given various skill proficiencies that determine their likelihood of success in crafting certain objects. Objects that require skill proficiencies higher than what the player currently has are less likely to succeed while objects that require skill proficiencies lower than or equal to the player’s level almost always succeed.
Various dungeons and combat areas are also scattered around the map for players to explore once they are appropriately equipped. These areas promise better resources but also harbor great danger for the unprepared.
The scope of Pax Dei’s gameplay across all its facets are somewhat limited at the moment, but considering its status in early access, more improvements, overhauls, and updates are expected as it inches closer to its full release.
