Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii Story
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii Story Plot
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii's story kicks off with Goro Majima washed ashore on a tropical island with no memory of his past. He's rescued by a young boy named Noah Rich, and soon finds himself leading his own pirate crew to discover a hidden treasure.
No one outside of RGG Studios knows how Majima found himself becoming a pirate in Hawaii. However, RGG Studio's president, Masayoshi Yokoyama, said that the game's story and world will be about 1.3 to 1.5 times larger than Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name.
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii Setting
Hawaii
Hawaii, much like Yokohama in Gaiden, feels like a familiar stomping ground. Returning players will find many of the activities they enjoyed in Infinite Wealth still available, from zipping around on segways to building bonds with locals and seeking out high-stakes confrontations with the city's most notorious criminals.
It is currently unclear how much of the main map from Infinite Wealth returns in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, but it has been confirmed that the end-game location Nele Island will be returning.
Rich Island
Rich Island serves as the starting point for Majima's journey, a tropical paradise where he washes ashore with no recollection of his past. Based on the available trailers, this island seems to function as a central hub within Pirate Yakuza.
Madlantis
Madlantis is a notorious pirate haven where buccaneers from across the seas converge for pleasure and naval battles. As such, it could potentially be a prime location for new mini-games and boss battles within Pirate Yakuza. The game's main antagonist, Queen Michele, rules over Madlantis with an iron fist.

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii Gameplay
Hand-to-Hand Combat
In Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, players can seamlessly switch between two distinct fighting styles: the nimble "Mad Dog" style and the brutal "Sea Dog" style.
The "Mad Dog" approach emphasizes speed, agility, and sharp technique, allowing for precise strikes that stun and juggle enemies in mid-air. The "Sea Dog" style, on the other hand, leans into the pirate theme, letting players dual-wield short swords and utilize a range of pirate tools like grappling hooks and explosives.
Naval Combat
As you sail the open seas, you'll need to upgrade your ship to face increasingly formidable foes. When you encounter an enemy pirate ship, a real-time cannon battle ensues. You'll need to strategically maneuver your ship to avoid enemy fire while delivering your own. Once you've breached their defenses, prepare for a crew-vs-crew brawl to defeat the enemy captain and claim victory.
Based on the game's Naval Combat trailer, it seems as though there will be a "Pirates' Coliseum," where players can participate in four game modes:
⚫︎ Tournament of Captains: Players "will have to conquer their enemies at sea, then board their ship for an all out melee!"
⚫︎ Madlantis Mania
⚫︎ Quick Clash
⚫︎ Swashbuckler Showdown
Side Activities
A Like a Dragon game isn't complete without its mini-games, which offer a fun and welcome diversion from the main story. These mini-games range from the lighthearted and social to the downright wacky. For instance, you can test your driving skills in a game of Dragon Kart, or belt out your favorite tunes at the Revolve Bar's Karaoke. If you're feeling adventurous, you can take on the Crazy Delivery challenge, which tasks you with delivering goods under a strict time limit. And for those looking for a bit of romance, there's even a dating mini-game to explore.

⚫︎ People who like open-world games

⚫︎ People who want plenty of mini-games in their games
