Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back Max Cailfield in a new thrilling adventure. Read on to learn more about its story and gameplay details.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure Gameplay
In Life is Strange: Double Exposure, like its predecessor, players will experience an episodic adventure game where player decisions and Max's unique abilities are seamlessly integrated. As players, you will navigate between these two parallel realities, uncovering clues and making decisions to thwart the killer who threatens Safi in both timelines. Max must leverage her unique ability to shift between these worlds, solve the mystery, and prevent the murder from occurring again. Your choices and actions will shape the outcome, adding a new layer of complexity and suspense to Max's journey.
Max Caulfield Gets New Powers
Apart from her powers to rewind time, Max now sees into parallel worlds at once, being able to peek into the differences between the two worlds. Max can also transport herself into either timelines seamlessly, physically teleporting between realms as a means to achieve her needs. These new powers come into play as Max tries to investigate Saafi’s death in her original timeline, while also trying to prevent the death of Saafi in the other, parallel world.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure Story
In Life is Strange: Double Exposure, you will once again step into the shoes of Max Caulfield, the protagonist from the original Life is Strange. Now a resident photographer at the prestigious Caledon University, Max is confronted with a shocking tragedy when she discovers her new friend Safi murdered in the snow. In a desperate bid to save her, Max attempts to use her time-rewinding powers, which she hasn't employed in years. Instead, she inadvertently opens a portal to a parallel timeline where Safi is still alive but in imminent danger.
Both Canon Endings of Life is Strange Will Be Explored
Life is Strange ended with two timelines centered around sacrifice. One would lead to Max's childhood town, Arcadia Bay, suffering peril; and the other a heartbreaking turn of events that affects a person dearest to her, Chloe Price. Returning characters from Max’s first adventure will remember both outcomes from either decisions made at the end of the first game. It will also feature a built-in scene for those who are new to the series or no longer have their old Life is Strange save file to create a new scenario based on their dialogue choices in order for the game to determine in which timeline you’ll fit in.
