You’ll be cleaving through thousands of enemy soldiers in real-time, chaining combos between standard attacks and the devastating power moves of your chosen weapon. The signature 1-vs-1,000 combat shines in its fluidity, with the square button unleashing your basic moves while the triangle lets you pull off a heavier attack to obliterate crowds. As you fill your spirit gauge, Rage Mode kicks in, unlocking powerful Battle Arts that tear through enemy lines like a tornado.
Strategic depth comes into play when you face off against generals. These aren’t just beefed-up grunts—they have Fortitude,
a shield that must be worn down before you can deal serious damage. Here, timing is everything. You’ll need to execute well-timed blocks, unleash Battle Arts, and dodge their unblockable special attacks to survive. The challenge ramps up in duels, where you must outwit and outlast legendary foes like Hua Xiong. Victory here doesn’t just depend on brute strength but also smart use of your move set and environmental awareness.
Alongside the chaotic battles, Dynasty Warriors: Origins adds layers of tactical control with the reintroduced guards system. You command up to 21 soldiers, issuing orders like arrow volleys, spear charges, and encirclements from an aerial view accessed through the Eyes of the Sacred Bird. You’re not just part of the battle—you’re orchestrating the chaos, ensuring that every swing of your sword plays a role in the larger war effort.
Dynasty Warriors: Origins Companion Characters
Dynasty Warriors Origins is set to deliver a branching narrative, allowing players to choose their protagonist's allegiance between Liu Bei, Cao Cao, or the Sun family. This decision will not only shape the storyline but also the playable companions who will join their journey.

Dynasty Warriors: Origins Story Plot
The game's story centers around a martial artist—Ziluan—who suffers from amnesia, making his way through the chaos of the Eastern Han Dynasty. The game begins during the period of widespread famine and government corruption, just before the outbreak of the Yellow Turban Rebellion. As the protagonist navigates through this tumultuous time, he encounters significant historical figures, such as Zhang Jiao, leader of the Yellow Turban movement, and Guan Yu, a warrior known for standing against the injustices of the ruling class. Together, they battle corrupt officials and their armies, igniting the flames of rebellion.
As Ziluan pieces together his forgotten history, players will be able to shape his journey through choices that affect not only his story but the fate of entire nations. The storyline will eventually branch out, leading the player to choose whether the protagonist will align with Liu Bei, Cao Cao, or the Sun family.
