Everholm features a simple, open-ended plot centered on Lily, a young girl searching for her sister, Melanie, who mysteriously vanished into the strange land of Everholm. Strangely, everyone in this new world seems to recognize Lily. Determined to continue her search, she sets up a homestead, gathers resources, and seeks the aid of a local witch to find her missing sister.

Everholm embraces the cozy pixel art RPG style popularized by games like Stardew Valley and Fields of Mystria, but with its own twist. Rather than focusing on combat and exploration, the game encourages players to build a new life in the mysterious land of Everholm, gathering the resources necessary to advance the story and find Melanie.

The heart of the game lies in building relationships with the Everfolk, farming, ranching, planting trees, solving puzzles, and crafting a homestead from scratch.
