Until Then Gameplay
Until Then is a narrative adventure game presented as a side-scrolling visual novel with pixel-art characters in vibrant environments. Players control Mark as he explores locations such as his home, school, and the surrounding city while interacting with various objects and characters to progress the story.
The visual novel-style game includes interactive features such as messaging friends through an in-game smartphone, browsing social media, and making small but influential choices that can change conversations and events. In addition to dialogue and exploration, players can take part in short minigames inspired by the everyday activities of a student.
Until Then Story Plot
Until Then follows the life of Mark Borja, a high school student living in a fictional Philippine-inspired city after a devastating global event known as "The Ruling." While trying to live a normal school life with his friends, Mark begins experiencing strange repeated moments as unusual events start happening around him.
A mysterious meeting eventually sets off a chain of events that disrupts Mark’s everyday routine. As people begin to disappear and memories become unreliable, the friend group attempts to uncover the truth behind the strange occurrences before the situation grows worse.
