Stellar Blade's Patch 1.003

Boss Challenge Mode After Finishing The Game

Kim Hyung Tae, director of Shift Up, talked about the latest patch update (1.003) for Stellar Blade on a PlayStation.Blog post, revealing exciting additions and improvements to the game. Released on May 24, the update introduced a new Boss Challenge mode, inviting players to test their skills against the 19 bosses encountered throughout the game in Story, Normal, or Hard mode.

This new mode offers a thrilling combat experience and provides players with the opportunity to track their progress and compare their performance with friends, "after the challenge is over, your battle data is automatically analyzed. You’ll see metrics like battle time, number of perfect parries and dodges, consumable usage, and more." Notably, completing the Boss Challenge on Normal difficulty or higher unlocks the coveted Neurolink Suit for Eve, a testament to the player's mastery of combat mechanics.

In addition to the Boss Challenge mode, the patch brings new Nano Suits for the protagonist, Eve, enhancing both her combat prowess and visual appeal. With the introduction of the White Kunoichi and Black Kunoichi Nano Suits, players can further customize Eve's appearance to their liking.

Players can now enjoy improved convenience features such as automatic re-locking onto enemies after switching between ranged and melee attacks, as well as the option to always display the compass in the HUD.

Stellar Blade continues to evolve with each update, and Shift Up remains committed to delivering an immersive and engaging experience for players on the PlayStation 5 platform. With the latest patch, players can look forward to challenging themselves in the Boss Challenge mode, experimenting with new Nano Suits, and enjoying a smoother gameplay experience.

Additional Outfits Still Does Not Appease Censorship Issues

Among the new additions to the game's wardrobe are the Midsummer Redhood and Midsummer Alice outfits, which offer variations of the original Bunny and Cybernetic Bondage suits. These additions come amidst previous controversies regarding adjustments made for aesthetic reasons, which some players criticized as "censored."

The introduction of these new outfits sparked a range of reactions within the gaming community. Supporters of the "Free Stellar Blade" petition viewed the additions as a significant victory, while others remained skeptical, arguing that the underlying issues of censorship persisted.

Some players began scrutinizing existing costumes for signs of alteration, conducting "transparency checks" on fabrics to detect potential changes. Disagreements arose over adjustments made to sheer fabrics, with debates revolving around whether such alterations constituted censorship.

As the discussion continues, it remains uncertain whether the introduction of new outfits will fully satisfy those initially stirred by the petition.
