Playstation Support Can Offer Refund if Claimed as False Advertising

A Reddit user going by the name Nonoya761 recently shared a post on YouTuber and Twitch Streamer Asmongold's Subreddit, stating that "PlayStation Support is offering refunds for Stellar Blade if you cite false advertising as the reason." Although Nonoya761 didn't explicitly state the reason behind this in the post, their comments beneath shed some light. They referenced apparent false advertising regarding the game being fully uncensored, linking a Twitter (X) post from Stellar Blade's official account that promised uncensored content across all countries.

In their argument, Nonoya761 pointed out that other M-rated games like Senran Kagura and Dead or Alive, as well as scenes in The Last of Us 2, contain explicit content without facing similar censorship. The controversy arose following the latest version 1.0.0.2 update, where certain outfits for the character EVE were altered to hide or reduce cleavage, notably the Holiday Rabbit Outfit.

This refund trend isn't isolated, as several Twitter (X) users are also opting to refund the digital version of the game in favor of purchasing the physical copy to avoid censorship. For example, @Two_Hands_Revy expressed a desire to switch to the physical version, while @ceaserdmv confirmed the possibility of obtaining a refund for the digital version.

The censorship issue has sparked the #FreeStellarBlade trend, with users actively signing a petition urging for the reversal of censorship changes and the release of a patch. The petition has gained significant traction, garnering over 43,226 signatures as of writing. If it reaches its goal of 50,000 signatures, the plan is to print and deliver the petition to Shift Up offices in Korea and Sony PlayStation North America offices.

A video shared by Reddit user HeavyMachinegan on Stellar Blade's subreddit captured a Q&A session during the game's launch, where director Kim Hyung-tae addressed a concern about the supposed censorship of EVE’s Holiday bunny suit and some of EVE’s other outfits.

Responding to a question about reverting costumes to their original versions, Kim acknowledged the issue and clarified that the final costume presented in version 1.0.0.2 is indeed the intended design. However, he recognized that users may need more than this explanation and revealed that internal discussions are ongoing regarding the matter. Kim expressed that he thinks that they will “have a chance to answer it soon.”
