DIGIMON CON 2025 Announcements
Digimon’s New Mobile TCG Digimon Alysion Is In Development
During the DIGIMON CON 2025 Livestream on March 20, Bandai Namco announced Digimon Alysion, an all-new mobile TCG for Digimon, which is now in development. Following the success of other mobile card games such as Pokémon TCG Pocket and Marvel Snap, Digimon looks to expand its TCG audience by going into the mobile space.
Digimon Alysion is a free-to-play digital trading card game similar to existing mobile TCGs, where players can collect cards depicting different Digimon and characters from the franchise, build their decks, and fight other players. Additionally, Digimon Alysion looks to feature an in-depth story mode, adding more options for players beyond normal and competitive play which the game seems to have.
Alongside the announcement, Bandai has revealed a new trailer for the project, which showcased a few snippets of its gameplay and introduced its all-female cast that will be featured in its speculated story mode. New characters introduced are Kanata Hondo, Futre, and Valner Dragnogh, together with a new Digimon called Gemmon.
There are no official announcements regarding Digimon Alysion’s release window. However, the presentation mentioned an upcoming closed beta test with more information coming at a later date.
Digimon Story: Time Stranger More Details Revealed
DIGIMON CON 2025 also revealed more info about Digimon Story: Time Stranger. During this portion of the livestream, producer Ryosuke Hara talked about the game’s history, main characters, and the special moves of some of the Digimon appearing in the game.
Hara confirmed that the three starter Digimon players can choose from at the start of the game would be popular Digimon from the original Digimon Adventure anime, namely Patamon, Gomamon, and DemiDevimon. Fans have previously speculated these three to be the starter Digimon partners as they are included in the main promotional artwork for the game.
Furthermore, he mentioned that Time Stranger would have over 450 Digimon, with some featured in the new trailer such as Angewomon, Gallantmon, and the fan-favorite Agumon. This means that Time Stranger has the largest roster in the series, as its predecessor, Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth - Hacker’s Memory had 330 Digimon in total.
On top of that, Hara also revealed the game’s story and main characters. Players can choose between two protagonists: the male Dan Yuki and the female Kanan Yuki. They are secret agents for ADAMAS, an organization that uncovers mysterious threats to humans and Digimon. Another character introduced as the game’s main heroine is Inori Misono with her partner Aegiomon who will accompany players in their adventure. As hinted in the game’s title, the concept of time will be focused on, as according to Hara, the protagonist will be thrown back and forth through time.
Several announcements and reveals were also made during the event, such as the Digimon Anime’s 25th Anniversary PV, new starter decks and booster pack for the Digimon Trading Card Game, and a new upcoming anime series called Digimon Beatbreak set to premiere in October 2025. The Digimon franchise looks to have big things ahead, so fans must stay tuned for more news later this year.
