Sea of Remnants Announced Wanderer Alpha Test
Available in February 2026
Sea of Remnants is launching its first alpha test, titled the "Wanderer Test," from February 5 to February 12, 2026. Players interested in participating can apply for registration, with sign-ups open until January 22, 2026 at 7:59 PM (PST).
Publisher NetEase Games and developer Joker Studio revealed that the alpha test version will be available for PC on Steam, with English and Japanese language support. The limited closed test gives players an early opportunity to experience the oceanic adventure RPG ahead of its full release later on in 2026.

Interested players can register via the "Recruitment Survey", found through the game’s official Steam, Reddit, and Discord pages. They can also participate in a test slot giveaway by going to the official Sea of Remnants account on X (Twitter) and engaging with the announcement post for a chance to be selected. Slots are limited, but selected players will be notified to join the test once it’s available.
Those that are eligible for the Wanderer Test will also need to take note of their device’s compatibility. According to the minimum PC requirements, the following recommended specifications are necessary to allow for efficient installation and gameplay:

Wanderer Gameplay Revealed
Preview footage released alongside the announcement of the Wanderer Test also highlights hands-on sailing, real-time naval battles, lively island environments, puzzles, mini-games, and story-driven content, showcasing the variety of activities available during the alpha test.
In the game, players take on the role of a sailor who has lost their memories, exploring dangerous seas, battling monsters, recruiting puppet-like allies, and shaping the pirate city of Orbtopia through their choices.
The Wanderer alpha test offers an early look at Sea of Remnants’ core systems, combining open-sea exploration with open-world RPG elements and turn-based combat. The gameplay mechanics allow players to freely navigate the world before shifting into more tactical encounters.
With the launch of the preview trailer, interested players took to the YouTube comments section and expressed their excitement for the seafaring game, waiting to embark on a new naval exploration.
