inZOI Online Showcase Revealed New Details About The Game’s Early Access

Free DLC and Updates Until Full Release

inZOI developer KRAFTON recently conducted an Online Showcase for the game on March 19, providing more information about the company’s plans regarding the game’s Early Access release next week and beyond. inZOI Game Director Hyungjun "Kjun" Kim led the showcase and shared what the game has in store for the players.

For Early Access, inZOI will be priced at $39.99, which Kjun deemed as a fair and affordable price, prioritizing players over profit. She explained, "inZOI is not yet a finished product. There are still a lot of improvement. I think the more players that participate, the better the game will become. With this in mind, we have decided to offer early access at the most reasonable price possible."

inZOI may cost as much as a double-A game, but Kjun did promise that, until early access ends, updates and DLCs will be free. Their goal is "No player left behind on our journey toward inZOI’s completion." This makes the pricing of their early access more acceptable, especially since the developers have also provided a lengthy roadmap for the game, adding so much content during its early access period.

inZOI launches in early access on Steam on March 28, and the game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC for its full launch. As of writing, the release date for its full release is still unknown. To stay up to date with the latest information about the game, check out our article below!

16 Different Types of Death

The tail-end of the showcase was dedicated to answering questions from streamers and the comment section. One particular question pertained to killing off Zois and asked how many ways Zois can die.

Kjun responded, "One of the biggest features of this game is death. In Inzoi we have a lot of different types of death, because life comes with death. In Inzoi you could go to the bathroom and if you slip you might die. Or if you eat some old food you might have to go to the bathroom and, again, die. And when you fix broken-down electronics you might get electrocuted, so you need to be careful. I made the chance really low, but actually electronics can very often break down. We have 16 different types of deaths." Comparatively, The Sims 4 has over 30 ways to kill Sims, ranging from getting a broken heart to being crushed by a vending machine.

He correlated the death of Zois to the mindset of actual people wanting recognition. Kjun elaborated, "But one thing that I can say that only exists in Inzoi is dying from the need for recognition. In the modern world you find a lot of people feel fulfilled from being recognized by others and this death reflects that. For example, in Inzoi let's say I fought with someone and that rumor spread and came back to me. I could get a text message about it, or a friend of mine could tell me about the rumor and if the rumor is negative then my need for acknowledgement can go down. And if that drops too drastically then you might die from that."

This highlights the importance of inZOI’s reputation and karma system, which can have dire consequences, like too many deaths in a city could turn it into a literal ghost town.
