inZOI Overview
inZOI is an upcoming life-simulator game developed by South Korean studio KRAFTON. Announced to be headed for the PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S in 2025, it will have an early access release on Steam on March 28, 2024. The studio seeks to develop the game in hopes to rival the life-simulator giant The Sims.
In inZOI, players are employed in a company lead by Psycat the cat where their jobs are to create virtual worlds inhabited by Zois. Players must create their own Zois in the character creator studios and plop them down into the virtual city of Dowon. They can control every aspect of the city, from the weather and disaster rates, down to the minutiae of assembling chairs for a home. Zois can form relationships, form families, fall out of love, and experience heartbreak.

inZOI Gameplay
inZOI will have players become ‘Directors’ over the city of Dowon, where they can create as many Zois, or inhabitants, as they wish. The character creator studio allows them to extensively customize their Zois’ appearances, dreams, personalities, and quirks to their liking. After finishing, Zois can be inserted into their virtual worlds and immediately live out their lives independently, or micromanaging every aspect of their day-to-day actions.
Aside from having control over the Zois, players can also customize different variables pertaining to the city, from its weather, its fire rates, crime rates, appearances, and even accident rates. The rates among its inhabitants can also be changed, from how many relationships form, how open Zois are in their relationships, and how often they dream while they sleep.

⚫︎ The name ‘inZOI’ came to be from the director’s fascination with the word ‘zoi’, which comes from the Greek word ZOE for ‘life.’ Thus, the title means ‘inLIFE.’
⚫︎ Being developed by a Korean studio, ‘inZoi’ when pronounced in their language sounds similar to "in joy" or ‘enjoy.’
⚫︎ The official inZOI cat mascot is named Psycat/Psykhet, where they appear almost everywhere in-game. They are the players’ boss within the company they work for, urging them to perform tasks in their virtual worlds.
