Crowsworn Overview
Crowsworn is an upcoming Metroidvania-style game developed and published by indie studio Mongoose Rodeo. Although an exact release date has yet to be announced, the game has generated quite the buzz since its successful Kickstarter campaign in 2021 and its Hollow Knight influences.
The game takes place in Fearanndal, where players, as an unnamed crow-like protagonist wearing a plague-doctor mask, awakens with no memory of how they got there. The kingdom is overrun by creatures beset by a curse. Players are then tasked with traversing this interconnected world and seek to uncover the origin of this curse that plagues the land.
In true Metroidvania fashion, Crowsworn has players exploring an interconnected world by running, jumping, dashing, and backtracking to access previously unreachable areas. As they progress, the player obtains new abilities and runes that augment their toolkit. These upgrades not only open up more of the map, but also let players experiment with various playstyles.

Crowsworn Gameplay
The protagonist wields a scythe for melee attacks, which can be thrown and, as per the developers, "ping-pong" between enemies or used for "pogo-bouncing," a mechanic where the player performs a downward attack while in mid-air to propel their character upwards.
There are also two ranged options: two firearms and Corvian magic, a power that uses "Malice," one of the game’s resources. The game includes a system of stat customization called Constellations, where collecting "Star Fragments" lets players activate up to five constellation bonuses.
