SUPER ROBOT WARS Y Gameplay

Super Robot Wars Y is a tactical RPG that brings together units and pilots from various mecha anime series in a crossover storyline. The core gameplay loop involves turn-based, grid-based combat where players strategically move their units to defeat enemies.
Players move their mechs and issue commands like attacking, using special skills ("Spirit Commands"), and utilizing the new "Assist Link" system. When a unit attacks, a dynamic battle animation plays out, showcasing the iconic moves of the mechs.
The new "Assist Link system" allows supporting characters from the featured anime to participate in missions, providing passive buffs, healing, and other tactical advantages to the main units.

Players can choose between a male and a female protagonist, each with their own unique version of the main original robot. This choice can influence the story and encourage multiple playthroughs. As players progress, they’ll earn credits and resources to upgrade their mechs and train their pilots, improving their stats and unlocking new abilities.
The game includes features to make it more accessible for newcomers, such as an improved auto-battle system and a "Super Casual" mode. The user interface has also been streamlined to be cleaner and easier to read.
SUPER ROBOT WARS Y Story Plot

Super Robot Wars Y features an original story centered on protagonists Cross and Forte Tsukinowa and their mech, the Lunedrache. Players choose to play as either Cross or Forte, which influences the story. Their journey is central to the game's new narrative, which is independent of past Super Robot Wars titles.
They must unite with pilots from various anime series, such as Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury, Getter Robo Arc, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Re;surrection, and more to face a new "looming calamity." The game's narrative doesn't just re-tell the individual anime plots; it weaves them all together into a new, cohesive crossover story.
