Suikoden STAR LEAP is a mobile RPG set two years before the first game where a young hero is tasked to undergo one ambitious journey. Read on to learn how it plays, what it's about, and everything else we know so far.

Suikoden STAR LEAP Gameplay
Suikoden STAR LEAP is set to be an RPG, mirroring the style that the Suikoden series is known for. It will also feature the series’ signature turn-based combat mechanics, as well as more strategy-centered army battles.
In the Suikoden LIVE Special Stage during Tokyo Game Show, more gameplay footage and characters were revealed for the first time. For example, allies can be sent on expeditions for resources, and their equipment can be enhanced and upgraded for better damage at the Village homebase once the party begins to rebuild it from the ground up. Players can journey through dungeons and hostile areas to acquire treasure and valuable loot, which can then be used to power up characters or improve the village. As a reward for a hard day's work, they can unwind by engaging in mini-games with their party members, such as fishing, cooking, farming, whack-a-mole, apple-picking, and more. These activities will net materials and improve affection levels as well.
Facilities
Recruiting certain allies will unlock different activities and shops useful for acquiring important resources for powering up your characters.These facilities include a Shirin's Bounty board, Meesh's Forge, and Naeje's Rune Shop. Several other recruitable allies will set up shop in the Village and open a unique facility.
Mini Games
Some other characters, on the other hand, will open up Mini Games rather than facilities. Players can fish for cooking ingredients, harvest their own produce, mine for rare resources, chop down trees, and much more.
Interactions
The Village in Suikoden STAR LEAP will always be active, meaning players can watch its residents go about their days and even interact with each other. Here, players will have access to the Box of Wishes, a dropbox where villagers can leave job requests. Furthermore, players can cook for their allies in the village, strengthening bonds and potentially unlocking new abilities.
Suikoden STAR LEAP Story Plot
Suikoden STAR LEAP begins in a humble village east of the renowned Scarlet Moon Empire, located on the shore of a lake. The protagonist, the village chief’s young son, returns home safe and successful from his first ever hunt. In celebration of this feat, the village erupts in celebration and festivities. However, all these are for naught when a mysterious assault is launched, turning over the fate of the village in an instant.
Our hero, accompanied by his talented companions, is then tasked to embark on a journey to restore peace to the village. What should have been a small adventure turns into something much more than the hero and his allies would have ever thought of. A new story of 108 stars begins here.
According to STAR LEAP Producer Shinya Fujimatsu, this title’s story takes place two years before the events of Suikoden 1 but will go through other eras as well, thus acting as a sequel and a prequel in one to Suikoden 1 through 5.
