⚫︎ Konami and MYTHRIL have released a new story trailer for Suikoden STAR LEAP, along with details on additional characters and locations.
⚫︎ In a recent Bloomberg interview, Suikoden series producer Rui Naito shared his aspirations for the franchise's future, expressing interest in expanding its reach through various media, including a manga, anime, stage play, concert, and mobile game.
⚫︎ In a March 4, 2025 interview with Famitsu, the developers of the upcoming Suikoden STAR LEAP shared their vision for combining the depth and presentation of traditional Suikoden games with the accessibility and convenience of mobile gaming.
⚫︎ Konami and developer MYTHRIL have officially announced Suikoden STAR LEAP for iOS and Android devices. While a release date has yet to be confirmed, the game will be free-to-play with optional in-game microtransactions.
Suikoden STAR LEAP Overview
Suikoden STAR LEAP is the newest mobile addition to the popular Suikoden JRPG series where players will step into the shoes of a village chief’s son, whose hometown is ravaged by a frontal assault, changing the fate of the village in a snap. In an effort to restore peace to their land, our hero, alongside his faithful companions, embark on a journey. A new story of 108 stars will now commence.
The game will feature the series’ signature pixel art graphics combined with a dynamic soundtrack to deliver a wholly new Suikoden experience, as well as 108 new stars to befriend and recruit. According to STAR LEAP Producer Shinya Fujimatsu, this title’s story takes place two years before the events of Suikoden 1 but will go through other eras as well, thus acting as a sequel and a prequel in one to Suikoden 1 through 5.

Suikoden STAR LEAP Gameplay
Based on the announcement trailer, Suikoden STAR LEAP is set to be an RPG, mirroring the style that the Suikoden series is known for. It will feature the series’ signature turn-based combat mechanics, as well as the more strategy-centered army battles.
As of writing, there are no concrete details as to what STAR LEAP will feature. We’ll be sure to update once more details are announced!
