Project Windless Gameplay
Project Windless is an open-world action RPG that takes elements from the hack-n-slash, Soulslike, and musuo genres in its main gameplay. The game sees players controlling a Rekon warrior in battles where they must face off against hundreds of enemies while avoiding enemy fire and performing stylish combos. Players will utilize weapons like swords, spears, and katanas alongside action game movement options like dodge rolls, backstepping, and parrying.
The game will also feature massive boss fights against singular enemies with large healthpools, similar to the boss fights in Dark Souls. Project Windless also features a massive, greatly detailed open world, and players will have to explore it in order to unlock new items, sidequests, story moments, and combat encounters. The Rekon have multiple means of transportation, from walking and running to gliding through the air on a massive, beetle-like creature.
Project Windless Story Plot
Project Windless takes place in the same universe as the "The Bird That Drinks Tears" dark fantasy series, often lauded as one of the best South Korean fantasy novel series. The game will take place approximately 1,500 years before the events of the first novel, which sees a great war taking place between the four main kingdoms and their respective races. These races include humans, rooster-like warriors called the Rekon, the reptilian Nhaga race, and the magical Tokkebi spirits.
As a Rekon warrior, the player must fight to end the war and reunite the kingdoms. Player decisions in the game, from dialogue options to faction alignments, will also impact the story as it goes on.
