Persona 3 Reload Plot
Players assume the role of a high-school student enlisted in the Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad (SEES), a group of students investigating the Dark Hour,
an anomaly occurring in their physical world. During the Dark Hour, SEES members can access Tartarus, a tower inhabited by creatures known as Shadows. The protagonist collaborates with fellow students Yukari Takeba, Junpei Iori, Akihiko Sanada, and Mitsuru Kirijo. Throughout the game, SEES takes in other characters, including Fuuka Yamagishi, a female android named Aigis, Ken Amada, Shinjiro Aragaki, and a dog named Koromaru.
Persona 3 Reload Gameplay
Persona 3 Reload is a turn-based RPG that incorporates simulation game elements. The remake retains core features and mechanics found in the original game.
Players progress through the game by completing quests and side quests. The action mainly takes place in an area called Tartarus, where players use summons called Personas to defeat enemy creatures known as Shadows. In Reload, Tartarus will boast a new map with more details and parts including breakable objects and huge rare Shadows.
Players can create new Personas via Fusion, where two or more Personas in their roster are fused. Personas are categorized by Arcana and get stronger as players level them up.
Theurgy, a new combat system, enables characters to perform special attacks by filling a gauge through specific actions. Each party member has personality traits influencing how quickly they can fill their Theurgy gauge.
Similar to the mechanics used in Persona 5 Royal, players can command allies who are engaged in combat. Likewise, a battle mechanic called Shift is introduced. It acts similarly to the Baton Pass mechanic of Persona 5.
Social Links, a mechanic that helps make the protagonist stronger as you bond with various social link partners, has been reworked. In the original game, if your relationship with another character becomes strained, these bonds would regress (Reverse System) or even break (Broken System), requiring additional effort in rebuilding connections.
In Persona 3 Reload, the Broken System has been removed and players won't have to start a connection from scratch each time. The Reverse System will still remain in the game, but with the parameters of the relationship regression drastically eased.
The remake introduces Link Episodes that provide new side stories for various characters, including SEES members and miscellaneous characters. These events are available during specific story periods, offering stat boosts and unlocking special fusion recipes.
Dormitory activities, such as cooking, reading, and watching DVDs with friends, provide Social Stat boosts. Gardening with allies unlocks combat-based characteristics. Visiting Chagall Café allows party members to remember old skills, while a fortune teller at Club Escapade lets players influence the conditions of Tartarus for a fee.
Persona 3 Reload: Expansion Pass - Episode Aigis
Atlus has unveiled the Persona 3 Reload: Expansion Pass, introducing a series of downloadable content releases culminating in a significant post-ending DLC. This final installment will adapt The Answer,
the epilogue featured in Persona 3: FES, originally released as an enhanced version of the original Persona 3.
In the trailer, scenes from The Answer
are highlighted under the new title Episode Aigis.
Viewers catch glimpses of pivotal moments involving Metis, a key character set to play a prominent role in the upcoming DLC. Additionally, iconic locations such as the dorm and the Abyss of Time, which serves as the game's Tartarus equivalent, are showcased. Notably, scenes depicting Aigis wielding the Personas Orpheus and Asparas, belonging to the Persona 3 protagonist, are shown.
