Persona 3 was a turning point for the Persona series and it continues to stay in the hearts of many fans. In response to the demand for a remake, Famitsu spoke with the creators of Persona 3 Reload to discover more about the improvements and additions that gamers may anticipate in the highly awaited remake.

Persona 3 frequently topped the list of games creators wanted to see remade in recent years, according to Atlus' annual Atlus Survey. The game's ongoing popularity among fans further supported the decision to rerelease it with upgraded graphics and playability.

Stays Faithful To The Original But With Better Graphics

Persona 3 Reload's developers aimed to maintain the original game's spirit while guaranteeing that players could enjoy it with the improved visuals and gameplay elements found in Persona 5 Royal. They wanted to establish a balance between modernity and nostalgia.

According to director Takuya Yamaguchi, the graphics in Persona 3 Reload have undergone the most dramatic adjustment. The development team spent much time improving the 3D models and illustrations to ensure they met gamers' expectations for what a current generation console game can do. To match the height of the 3D character models, the settings, including the school, town, and dungeons, were entirely rebuilt. Even Tartarus, an actual location in the game, underwent noticeable graphic changes.

Social Links and Updated Mechanics

Social Links, a mechanic that helps make the protagonist stronger as you bond with various social link partners, also saw a rehaul. In the original game, if you did or said anything to strain your relationship, these bonds would reverse or even break, forcing players to exhaust more time in rebuilding connections.

In the remake, the Broken system was removed entirely, meaning players won't have to start from scratch each time. The Reverse system remains in the game, but the parameters for triggering a Reverse have been drastically eased, making it overall easier to maintain your bonds

In addition, the entire physical condition system was eliminated because it did not work well with the calendar system. Finally, similar to the mechanics used in Persona 5 Royal, players can give commands to their allies while engaged in combat.

The creators of Persona 3 Reload are anxiously awaiting for the game's debut and they hope to provide all Persona 3 fans with a memorable experience. They intend to satisfy long-time fans while introducing new players to the intriguing universe of Persona 3. They hope to find the delicate balance of keeping the original game's essence and incorporating new advancements.
