One-Winged Angel Featured In Louis Vuitton Fashion Showcase

Played By A Live Orchestra

An iconic video game soundtrack makes an appearance in this year’s Men’s Louis Vuitton Fall-Winter Fashion Show, and it is no other than One-Winged Angel, the character theme for Final Fantasy 7’s infamous antagonist Sephiroth. The track served as the fashion show’s opening song, and a live orchestra played the gallant tune as male models strutted down the runway, decked out in luxury clothing.

Musician and fashion designer Pharrell Williams was the show’s creative director, and thus was in charge of the show’s soundtrack. As of writing, there’s no concrete explanation as to why the grandiose track was chosen for the event especially as the rest of the chosen songs were of the more pop variety, with artists such as The Weeknd, Playboy Carti, and Don Toliver and even K-POP artists like SEVENTEEN and BTS’ j-hope in its repertoire. Additionally, according to the livestream video’s description, Pharrell had a hand in writing and composing every other track that was played—of course, except for One-Winged Angel, composed by famed musician Nobuo Uematsu. However, it’s safe to assume that Pharrell may simply just be a fan of the sound, or he may secretly be a Final Fantasy fan himself.

For those interested to see fashion and video game music collide in one event, the livestream video is available for viewing on the Louis Vuitton official YouTube channel.

Square Enix Is More Than Happy To Hear The News

It seems that Square Enix themselves were surprised by the sudden feature in the show, reacting on the official Final Fantasy 7 X (Twitter) account. "We're more than happy to hear music director Pharell Williams and team have included One-Winged Angel in the Louis Vuitton Men Fall-Winter 2025 Fashion Show!" they shared in the tweet, alongside a link to the video.

Final Fantasy 7, The Gamers’ Favorite Final Fantasy

Final Fantasy 7 is one of the most popular Final Fantasy titles in the series’ long history, following the story of protagonist Cloud Strife and his allies to save the world from both megacorporation Shinra and the formerly renowned SOLDIER Sephiroth. Originally released back in 1997, it has solidified a place in the childhoods of many gamers across the globe.

Nearly two decades later, the title was suddenly revived when a surprise trailer dropped during E3 2015, followed by a gameplay trailer later that year at PlayStation Experience 2015. The Final Fantasy 7 Remake Project is projected to be a trilogy, with the third entry currently in development, and is a reimagining of the iconic original brought to life with modern graphics, new content, engaging combat, and new storylines to experience.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake (not to be confused with the Remake Project itself), is available to play on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC. The second installment, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, can be played on PlayStation 5, with a PC port arriving on Steam on January 23rd.
