Although key game mechanics for the Untitled John Wick Game remain mostly under wraps, Saber Interactive was able to share some insight on the nature of the game's core gameplay during the February 2026 PlayStation State of Play event.
Third-Person Close Quarters Combat
From what little gameplay can be parsed from the game's announcement trailer, the Untitled John Wick Game will be third-person action combat game similar to Sloclap Studio's Sifu. Although the footage shown in the trailer didn't include a hud, nor did it elucidate on specific combat mechanics, the game's bespoke, third-person, over-the-shoulder framing has been highlighted as a key factor in the combat experience.
Intense Driving Experiences and Immersive Environments
Although not showcased in the game's official announcement trailer, the Saber Interactive's official blog post for the announcement shed some light on the game's other mechanics, specifically its intense driving experiences and immersive environments. Featured extensively in the movies the game is based on, vehicular hand-to-hand and gun combat is a major cornerstone of John Wick's fighting style, as is his environmental fighting style.
The Untitled John Wick Game is set to make use of the environment as both a backdrop and a usable tool in the player's advance as the Baba Yaga. From environmental attacks to unique various grappling and parkour moves only possible in varied environments, the Untitled John Wick Game is set to have everything a player needs to enter the assassin world as John himself.

John Wick Game is set years before the Impossible Task, the mission that allowed John Wick to leave the assassin underworld, and explores an earlier chapter in his life before the events of the first film. The narrative takes place during his active years as an assassin, when his reputation as the Baba Yaga was still being forged.
The story expands the franchise’s lore during this period, featuring both familiar characters and new ones created specifically for the game.

Jardani "John Wick" Jovonovich
Known to the underground as "Baba Yaga", or the Boogeyman, John Wick is considered by many to be among the most dangerous assassins in the world. Born Jardani Jovonovich to a Ruska Roma family and orphaned at an early age, John learned the ways of the assassin after being adopted by Winston Scott, manager of the Contintental Hotel in New York. After earning his keep as one of the assassin world's biggest players, he eventually met a woman named Helen, with whom he wanted to settle down and leave the world of contract killing behind.
To do so, he was tasked by Vigo Tarasov to accomplish an "impossible task"; something that would come back to haunt him forever.
