Gungrave G.O.R.E: Blood Heat is a fast-paced action shooter centered on relentless combat across linear stages, where the main objective is the stylish annihilation of all enemies. The game demands constant aggression, as players must maintain a high-scoring "Beat Count" combo chain to maximize rewards and stage rank.
As the protagonist, Beyond the Grave, players utilize unlimited-ammo Cerberus pistols for constant gunfire, seamlessly integrating powerful melee swings from the transforming Death Hauler (coffin) to deflect projectiles and break enemy shields. This constant flurry of attacks builds up charges for devastating, screen-clearing Demolition Shots, which are essential for crowd control, heavy damage, and mid-combat shield restoration.
Players face escalating difficulty through encounters with varied enemy types, such as shielded units requiring melee finishers or foes that launch barrage attacks, forcing a continuous, strategic rotation through all of Grave's offensive and defensive abilities.

Gungrave G.O.R.E: Blood Heat continues the epic and emotional saga of Beyond the Grave, the resurrected gunslinger known for his unshakeable loyalty and drive for vengeance. The story is a standalone narrative that sees Grave working alongside a mercenary team, El-Arcangel, to take down the Raven Clan, a dangerous criminal syndicate.
The Raven Clan is responsible for distributing a powerful and monstrous drug known as SEED, which was previously thought to be eradicated. Grave pursues this quest to stop the drug's spread and fulfill his mission of protecting the innocent, traveling across dark, futuristic versions of real-life South-East Asian locations like Hong Kong and Singapore in a gothic noir tale of betrayal and justice.
