Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream Gameplay
Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream centers on isometric, stealth-based gameplay. At the start, players control Hanna and move her through a Nordic-inspired city. As the game progresses, two additional characters—Alva and Sebastian—join, each bringing their own traversal skills. Hanna can slip through tight vents and use a dart gun, Alva can climb pipes and walls, and Sebastian has the ability to swim.
Stealth is key here, and detection by an enemy triggers an immediate reset to a checkpoint just prior to the alert. As such, players have to study enemy patrols, sightlines, and audio cues. Standard stealth tools are all integrated into this system. This includes hiding in shadows or tall grass, throwing distractions like rocks, and performing non-lethal takedowns.
Levels are structured around puzzles that make use of each character’s abilities. Many objectives can be completed in multiple ways. For example, crossing a body of water might involve Sebastian swimming across to open a path, or Hanna and Alva combining their skills to create an alternate route.
Furthermore, the game’s camera is fully rotatable within its isometric framework, and players must attentively observe guard behavior and environmental cues—such as flickering lights or loose floorboards—to find hiding spots or escape routes. Citizen NPCs can also aid by creating diversions or guiding characters to hidden areas. Collectibles and secrets are scattered throughout non-linear level design.
Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream Story
A year into the narrative, the game opens in the fictional Scandinavian-inspired city of Eriksholm during the early 1900s. Hanna, a young orphan, wakes to find her brother Herman has vanished and has become the target of a police search after allegedly taking a mysterious valuable object. Hanna then embarks on a mission to uncover Herman’s whereabouts. As her search intensifies, players discover that Herman’s disappearance is linked to a broader conspiracy, and Hanna’s personal mission gradually escalates into something that affects Eriksholm’s fate.
