Emio: Famicom Detective Club Story Plot
A mysterious and unfortunate disaster has struck–a student has been discovered dead while wearing an unnerving paper bag with a smiling face drawn onto it. Those well-versed in murder mysteries in the area can recall that this bears a striking resemblance to a series of unsolved murders 18 years ago, where the urban legend of Emio, The Smiling Man, was born. Emio was said to be a serial killer that grew to become an urban legend as they claimed their victims by making them wear smiling paper bags, granting them "a smile that will last forever."
You enter the scene as an assistant to one of Utsugi Detective Agency’s private investigators where you must tread carefully and solve the string of murders to finally solve a nearly two-decade mystery!
Emio: Famicom Detective Club Gameplay
Famicom Detective Club is primarily a visual novel-esque game, where the narrative and visuals are the main driving force behind the experience, where the gameplay is mostly point-and-click and choosing dialogue/action choices. Being a sequel to the over 30-year-old series, there will surely be some modern touches to enhance the inquisitive and thought-provoking gameplay, but much as yet to be revealed, so stay tuned!
