Crowsworn Gameplay

Crowsworn is a side-scrolling Metroidvania in which the player traverses an interconnected world filled with hostile monsters.Movement options include running, jumping, and dashing to traverse nonlinear areas, some of which, in true Metroidvania fashion, only become accessible after acquiring new abilities.
The player wields a scythe for close‑quarters attacks, which can be thrown and will bounce off enemies or return to cut through groups. This scythe can also be used to "pogo bounce" on objects and possibly enemies. At range, players have access to dual pistols.
In addition to physical weapons, the game features Corvian magic, which taps into a resource called Malice. Using Corvian powers consumes Malice, and the player can restore this energy by landing scythe attacks on enemies. The game includes over 120 enemies and dozens of boss encounters for players to fight.

Players can also gather Star Fragments and spend them on Constellations that modify stats or enhance abilities, with up to five equipped simultaneously. There is also a Grafting system, where equippable items (classified by body part) contribute weight. This means that carrying too much weight reduces the player’s maximum health.
Crowsworn Story

The unnamed protagonist awakens in a coffin buried in an unmarked grave, suffering from amnesia and unsure of how they arrived there. They find themselves in Fearanndal, a kingdom plagued by a curse that has laid waste to much of its people.
As the nameless hero begins to explore, they reach a small village named Angsthel, where the survivors speak of a dark god and describe how the land is steeped in perpetual penance. The inhabitants believe they are paying for the sins of their ancestors.
Driven by a desire to regain their memories and make sense of their surroundings, the protagonist ventures forth, through Fearanndal’s interconnected regions.
