The particulars of Anima Song of the Abyss’ story are yet to be revealed but we do know that it will be set in the world of Gaïa, a setting ripped straight from the renowned roleplaying book franchise Anima Beyond Fantasy. The game’s Steam description promises a deep and multifaceted story where player choice affects the game’s narrative and could even profoundly change the fate of different characters.

Anima Song from the Abyss features fast-paced hack-and-slash gameplay and sweeping overworld exploration with minor platforming similar to Genshin Impact’s. The game’s unique fantasy aesthetics and high-contrast coloration pair well with its massive boss battles and vibrant engagements.

The game also features a system that allows the player to switch between two characters, supposedly to fit various combat and platforming situations based on each character’s strengths and weaknesses. The scope of the game’s cast of characters is currently unclear.
