Marvel's Wolverine Story Plot
Not much yet is known about the plot of Insomniac’s Wolverine game, except for the confirmation that it will share the same universe as their other series, Marvel’s Spider-Man.
The game will star Wolverine, a historied X-Men mutant with insane regenerative ability, infused with Adamantium who can draw his claws to rush and charge down enemies to slice and dice them. The Wolverine has had many iterations throughout the decades of his existence through his comic publications, and the game will be a standalone story that’s said to take inspiration from multiple sources, from the comics to the movies.
As Wolverine is a mutant most known for his involvement with the X-Men, there may be a chance that other fan-favorite mutants, such as Professor X, Magneto, Cyclops Jean Grey, Mystique, and others will make an appearance
It’s unknown if Wolverine will take place within one set location similar to Spider-man, and therefore could possibly occur through different places. It could even be across multiple time periods, as Wolverine is famous to have fought in the first World War.
Marvel's Wolverine Gameplay
Similar to the plot, not much is still officially known regarding the gameplay of Wolverine. However, there have been confirmed reports that it will be a semi-open world game, maintaning a linear route but featuring big open set pieces for its scenarios. This will be a stark contrast when compared to the open-world of Spider-Man, as the webslinger required big open spaces for said web slinging across New York.
A guaranteed fact amongst the uncertainties is that a game starring Wolverine will have players utilize his claws in combat, for slashing and stabbing, and slicing.
