Marvel's Wolverine Story Plot
Not much yet is known about the plot of Insomniac’s Wolverine game, except for the confirmation that it will share the same universe as their other series, Marvel’s Spider-Man.
The game will star Wolverine, a historied X-Men mutant with insane regenerative ability, infused with Adamantium who can draw his claws to rush and charge down enemies to slice and dice them. The Wolverine has had many iterations throughout the decades of his existence through his comic publications, and the game will be a standalone story that’s said to take inspiration from multiple sources, from the comics to the movies.
As Wolverine is a mutant most known for his involvement with the X-Men, there may be a chance that other fan-favorite mutants, such as Professor X, Magneto, Cyclops Jean Grey, Mystique, and others will make an appearance
Marvel's Wolverine Gameplay
Similar to the plot, not much is still officially known regarding the gameplay of Wolverine. However, there have been confirmed reports that it will be a semi-open world game, where it will be linear but have big open set pieces for its scenarios. This is a different take compared to the open-world of Spider-Man, as the webslinger required big open space for said web slinging across New York. It’s unknown if Wolverine will even take place within one set location, and therefore could occur through different places. It could even be across multiple time periods, as Wolverine has been known to have fought in the first World War.
Amidst all the unknown, one thing is for certain: Wolverine will have plenty of use of his claws for all sorts of slashing and stabbing, so bad guys (and Deadpool, if he’s here for some reason) beware.
To address the obvious, we’re well aware of the leaks that occurred last year, showing off in-development footage of the game. Seeing as those were all obtained illegally and will in no way represent the game in its finality, we choose not to address them; as well as out of respect for the developers that were impacted.

Marvel's Wolverine was formally revealed during the PlayStation State of Play in September 2021, featuring the iconic Marvel super hero in the aftermath of a bloody bar fight with only one other opponent surviving as he drinks from the bar, claws ready.
