Alone in the Dark Story Plot
Alone in the Dark features a psychological horror story with a Southern Gothic theme. In this game, you get to play as either Emily Hartwood, whose uncle Jeremy, just went missing, or Edward Carnby, the investigator assigned to Emily. It’s set in the 1920s in Derceto Manor, found in the southern part of the USA, which is a home for the mentally ill filled with “strange residents, nightmarish realms, and dangerous monsters.” You’ll be faced with a mystery that “will challenge your core beliefs” and make you question who you trust, what you believe, and what you’ll do next.

The gameplay of this survival horror title encompasses key elements typical of the genre, including deep exploration, intricate puzzles, and a gripping narrative that promises to leave players on the edge of their seats.
Prepare to confront menacing creatures armed with a selection of traditional weapons, from pistols to melee implements, albeit with a caveat—they are susceptible to breaking. Additionally, players can employ Molotov cocktails to harm and divert adversaries. With limited ammunition available, opting for stealth may prove advantageous when navigating through perilous encounters..

From the gameplay footage shown, the game looks like a nice survival horror game. It’s complete with an intriguing plot, a chilling atmosphere, and enemy units that would definitely freak you out if they jumped you out of nowhere. The cosmic horror in this game is unique, and the combat looks fun. Of course, we’d have to actually play the game first. However, based on what we’ve seen so far, this game may just well be a great comeback for a classic game series.
