Lies of P is set to release on September 19, 2023. The official Lies of P X account tweeted on August 9 that the game had already gone gold, meaning that it is ready to be distributed to stores and sold. The game will be released at different times depending on your timezone and platform, so refer to the table below.

Available on Game Pass a Day Early

Lies of P is now available on Game Pass. It was supposed to be accessible on Game Pass on September 19, 2023 as a Day One release, but Xbox's VP of games marketing Aaron Greenberg verified in a Twitter post that it is available since Sept 18, 2023 at 6PM. Those who purchased the Deluxe Edition have had access since September 15.

Lies of P Story Plot

Set in a cruel, steampunk reimagination of Carlo Collodi's The Adventures of Pinocchio, Lies of P puts you in the shoes of the titular character from the popular children's story as you destroy rogue puppets and unravel the mysteries behind their madness. Along the way, you will encounter characters who will aid you, such as Sophia (the game's version of The Blue Fairy), your father Geppetto, and Eugénie, as well as those who would stand in your way, such as the Stalkers.

Lies of P Gameplay

The game features Souls-like gameplay and a unique feature in the Lie System, which will influence how Pinocchio develops as a character further down the road. The game's weapons (most of them, as far as the demo hints) can be disassembled into the blade and the handle. The blade determines its damage type and element, while the handle determines the moveset and scaling. Each part also had its own Fable Art, equivalent to Elden Ring's weapon skill. Meanwhile, attached to Pinocchio's left arm is the Legion Arm, which functions as his offhand weapon or tool. These can perform all kinds of functions, from grabbing your enemies from a distance to setting timed explosives on the ground.

It also features something similar to Bloodborne's Rally mechanic, which allows players to recover a part of their lost health by damaging enemies. And similar to Sekiro, Lies of P has a similar mechanic in Perfect Guards, which encourages surgical gameplay.
