Developer Leenzee Games has released an initial patch and confirmed more updates are on the way, aiming to improve frame rate, enemy AI, and other gameplay elements.

Despite strong initial player numbers on Steam, the Soulslike has received Mostly Negative reviews, with many citing poor optimization linked to its Unreal Engine 5 implementation.
In a statement, the studio also addressed problems with pre-order reward distribution and abnormal pricing, apologizing for the inconvenience and pledging to resolve the issues promptly.

⚫︎ The official PlayStation listing for Wuchang: Fallen Feathers has revealed frame rate targets for its graphical modes ahead of launch. On PS5, the game will offer 30 FPS in Quality Mode, 40 FPS in Balanced Mode, and 60 FPS in Performance Mode. Details for PS5 Pro performance have not yet been disclosed.

Recommended hardware includes an Intel Core i7-9700 or AMD Ryzen 5 5500 processor, along with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070, AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT, or Intel Arc A750 GPU. The game will require a 64-bit processor and operating system, as well as 60GB of storage space.

Speaking to Game Rant, Xia said each boss will have its own rhythm, personality, and surprises tied to the game’s lore, with designs inspired by Chinese mythology and distorted interpretations of historical figures. The upcoming soulslike aims to make these battles visually striking and emotionally impactful.
⚫︎ While many Soulslike titles embrace muted color palettes to depict bleak, broken worlds, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers takes a more vibrant approach. Game and art director Xia Siyuan explained that the team’s goal was not only to create a well-playing Soulslike, but also to craft a visually rich world that reflects the cultural and mythological roots behind its setting.

Players take on the role of Wuchang, a pirate suffering from amnesia who is afflicted by the mysterious Feathering disease—an ailment that begins with feathers forming on the body and progresses to memory loss, madness, and eventual monstrous transformation.
