Enhanced Version of Star Wars: Bounty Hunter Releases on August 1

Pre-Orders Now Available

Aspyr Media and Lucasfilm Games have officially announced an enhanced edition of the 2002 classic, Star Wars: Bounty Hunter. Scheduled for release on August 1, this updated version will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. Pre-orders are already open across all major platforms for $19.99 with a 10% discount on Steam, Xbox, Nintendo eShop and PS Plus subscribers until its release date. The enhanced edition promises updated visuals and controls, along with a new skin inspired by one of the original game's most infamous easter eggs.

If you're unfamiliar with Star Wars: Bounty Hunter, the game allows players to step into the shoes of the infamous bounty hunter Jango Fett. Set as a prequel to Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, the game explores Jango's origins and his deadly missions across the galaxy. Players engage in intense third-person action, using an array of weapons and gadgets, including Jango's iconic dual blasters and jetpack, to hunt down bounties and uncover a conspiracy that ties directly into the Star Wars saga. The game's narrative and action-packed gameplay offer a deep dive into the lore of one of the franchise’s most enigmatic characters, making it a must-play for Star Wars enthusiasts.

The enhanced edition of Star Wars: Bounty Hunter boasts several graphical and gameplay upgrades. Improved environment textures with added bump maps create a richer, more modern look while retaining the nostalgic charm of the 2002 PlayStation 2 and GameCube release. New dynamic lighting effects enhance the visual impact, with every bolt from Jango Fett’s blasters illuminating the environment. Additionally, a new flashlight feature has been added to help players navigate darker areas of the game.

For PlayStation 5 users, the game takes full advantage of the DualSense wireless controller technology. Adaptive triggers provide a unique feel for each of Jango’s weapons, in-game radio communications are routed through the controller’s speaker for an immersive experience, and the lightbar serves as a visual indicator of Jango’s health status.

Bringing Back Boba Fett

One of the most exciting additions to the enhanced edition is the implementation of a long-rumored easter egg from the original game. In the 2002 version, players could find a low-resolution texture with a message in Aurebesh that read, "Cash in all bounties to play as Boba." However, even completing the game 100% only allowed players to control Jango Fett. Aspyr Media has now brought this feature to life, allowing players to unlock and play as Boba Fett after completing the campaign. This new Boba Fett skin adds a fresh incentive for long-time fans and newcomers alike to experience the game again.
