PlayStation Kicks Off 2024 State of Play
Extended Looks at Stellar Blade and Rise of the Ronin to be Featured
PlayStation announced that it will cover 15+ games, including PS5 exclusive titles like Stellar Blade and Rise of the Ronin, along with previews of new games releasing for PS5 and PS VR2 throughout the year and beyond. The livestream will be accessible on the official PlayStation YouTube, Twitch, and TikTok accounts on January 31, 2024 at 2 pm PT / 5 pm ET / 10 pm GMT.
Stellar Blade is a narrative-driven action-adventure game developed by Shift Up, the makers of Project EVE and Destiny Child. Set for release on PS5 some time in 2024, the game follows protagonist Eve on a mission to reclaim Earth after humanity is forced away from its home by alien invaders known as NA:tives.
Rise of the Ronin is a combat-focused open-world action RPG developed by Team Ninja, creators of Dead or Alive and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. The game launches for the PS5 on March 22, 2024, and is set in the final years of Japan's Edo period, depicting the Boshin war between the Tokugawa Shogunate and anti-shogunate factions.
Fans Anticipate Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Demo
Final Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth was unveiled in the September 2023 State of Play. The game is a highly anticipated addition to the FF7 remake project, featuring a reimagined story in three standalone titles. Rebirth promises an exciting journey for players that leads them to "The Forgotten Capital" from the original Final Fantasy 7.
Fans awaiting the release of FF7 Rebirth on February 29 are hoping for a demo showcase during the January 2024 State of Play. There has been no mention of the game in PlayStation's State of Play announcement. However, PlayStation published a blog post yesterday which features messages and development insights from Producer Yoshinori Kitase and Creative Director Tetsuya Nomura.
"Whatever I say will give people a hint about what is going to happen, so this is very difficult to answer. Really, I can only say that I want players to experience what waits for them at the end of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and feel it for themselves rather than getting that second-hand. Different people will respond to it differently, but I think that they will want to pursue that feeling, whatever it is, and set out on their next journey soon," read Nomura's message to fans.
