Jigglypuff Stars in Teaser Trailer
Pokémon fans can look forward to watching Super Bowl LX on February 8 to catch a special commercial ahead of Pokémon’s 30th anniversary. On February 4, Pokémon’s official YouTube channel released a teaser trailer featuring the Gen 1 favorite, Jigglypuff, floating around in a recording studio. "Celebrate 30 years of Pokémon with a special video debuting during Super Bowl LX on February 8!" the video’s description reads.
Based on the teaser, the commercial might focus on Pokémon's anniversary plans as the franchise marks 30 years since Pokémon Red and Green—the first games under the now globally recognized name—launched in Japan in 1996. It is also poised to reveal what could be in store for Pokémon Day 2026 on February 27, as Pokémon Presents is likely to happen on that date. Pokémon Presents is an annual live stream by The Pokémon Company (TPC) that showcases major announcements and upcoming projects for the franchise, such as new games, TV shows, and merchandise.
No exact time has been confirmed yet for when the special video on February 8 will appear. Fans can expect it at any time during the 3- to 4-hour Super Bowl game, which starts at 3:30 PM PT / 6:30 PM ET. Super Bowl LX will air on Hulu, Peacock, YouTube TV, Sling TV, and NFL+. For those who cannot watch it live, Pokémon will most likely upload the video on their official YouTube channel afterward.
SuperBowl Slot Kicks Off Pokémon’s 30th Anniversary

In a press release on February 4, TPC International unveiled further details about the year-long campaign for Pokémon's 30th anniversary. Regarding the Super Bowl LX spot, they stated that it "will illustrate the brand's mission to bring people together through a shared love of Pokémon and honor its growing audience of diverse, global and multigenerational fans across three decades."
TPC International president Kenji Okubo invited Pokémon fans, dubbed Trainers, to join them in celebrating this milestone—beginning with Super Bowl LX. "The Pokémon community has been the foundation and inspiration for the brand since the very beginning," he said, "and the passion of our fans is what has allowed Pokémon to have a lasting impact on pop culture around the world and across generations."

Pokémon Presents is set to be a major highlight for the Pokémon community, from casual fans to competitive players and avid collectors. As of now, the reveal fans are most looking forward to is a release date for Pokémon Champions, which will be the official VGC platform for the Pokémon World Championships in August.
Other news expectations include the next mainline Pokémon entry for Generation 10 and Pokémon Go's 10th anniversary. It can be recalled that Pokémon Scarlet and Violet was first announced during Pokémon Presents 2022 on February 27 of the same year, and Pokémon Legends Z-A made its debut in Pokémon Presents 2024 on February 27 as well.
Another source of anticipation is the Pokémon-themed attraction in Universal Studios Japan and other global locations. "As Pokémon celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, I am incredibly delighted that we can officially launch this new project with the USJ team to mark such a major milestone. Our daily mission in producing Pokémon is to 'enrich both the real and virtual worlds through the existence of Pokémon,'" TPC CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara said in a press release.

Several merchandise items are either already in motion or gearing up for Pokémon’s 30th anniversary. Pokémon LEGO sets are currently open for pre-orders and will start rolling out on February 27.
Throughout the year, commemorative items are available for purchase in the Pokémon Center, the official retailer for Pokémon products, both in-person stores and online. The same applies to licensing partners and other participating retailers set to release similarly themed figurines, plush toys, and other items.
The Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) scene is also joining in. The Pokémon TCG: Pokémon Day 2026 Collection is now out, featuring one Pikachu foil card with a Pokémon Day stamp, one Pokémon coin, and three Pokémon TCG booster packs. Meanwhile, the Pokémon TCG: First Partner Illustration Collection—Series 1 displays starter Pokémon from the regions of Kanto (Gen 1), Sinnoh (Gen 4), and Alola (Gen 7), slated for launch on March 20, 2026.
