Connie Booth, the former head of internal game production at PlayStation with a three-decade tenure, is embarking on a new journey as the group general manager for EA's action RPG division. This new role encompasses overseeing "EA Motive (Iron Man), Cliffhanger (Black Panther), and BioWare (Dragon Age, Mass Effect)," according to IGN.

Booth will report directly to Laura Miele, the head of EA Entertainment. Miele expressed her admiration for Booth's longstanding dedication to the gaming industry, noting her passion for games and how she "especially cares about developers."

Booth's reputation within the development community precedes her, with over 30 years of experience at Sony Interactive Entertainment. Mielle confirms that Booth played a crucial role in guiding the development of some of Sony's "biggest" franchises, including Marvel's Spider-Man 1 & 2, The Last of Us, Ghost of Tsushima, Uncharted, and Ratchet and Clank.

According to statements made by David Scott Jaffe, creator of Twisted Metal, Connie was fired from her position. "She was fired. She was not let go. She didn't retire. She didn't quit. She was fired," and states that she received no prior notice or warning about her termination

Jaffe attributed Connie's dismissal to a directive issued by PlayStation boss Jim Ryan. This directive aimed at steering PlayStation's teams towards developing more games-as-a-service titles (ex.World of Warcraft and Pokemon Go). However, this decision purportedly caused dissatisfaction among numerous PlayStation developers. Jaffe stated that Connie was "somehow blamed" for this.
