The PlayStation Portal has just been released. However, fans are growing frustrated with how its stocks are quickly selling out. Read on to learn more.
PlayStation Portal Out (Of Stock) Now
Sold Out at PlayStation Direct and Retailers
PlayStation Portal, the handheld gaming device that allows you to play PS5 games via remote play over an internet connection, is out now. However, unless you preordered one for yourself, you probably wouldn’t get your hands on one anytime soon.
Stocks have quickly sold out at PlayStation Direct, as well as in third-party retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, and GameStop. The official PlayStation Direct shop page for the PlayStation Portal advises customers to check back in early December. This, of course, frustrated fans expecting to purchase the device on launch.
As with most product shortages, scalpers have entered the picture, selling their stocks online for up to $500, more than twice its $200 SRP.
This isn’t the first time a Sony product had similar issues. When the PlayStation 5 was released, it was extremely difficult to find (at the right price), and scalpers were selling their PS5s for ridiculously high prices. Third-party retailers would often restock, but would almost instantly sell out.
