Developed exclusively for mobile in Japan, Persona 3 Aigis: The First Mission follows the story of Aigis, a central character from Persona 3, set in 1999 at the Kirijo Ergonomics Institute in Yakushima. As players delve into the game, they uncover the untold backstory of the beloved android-humanoid Aigis, including events that were not explored in the main Persona 3 storyline.

Developer G-MODE confirmed that the game will retain the classic system from the Persona series, featuring turn-based combat, social links, and the Persona mechanics, among others. As it goes in the Persona games, Aigis will engage in combat with "shadows" that threaten the island. Defeating these shadows raises Aigis' level, along with the skill-learning of Personas in her arsenal.

While the Nintendo Switch version of Persona 3 Aigis: The First Mission will only be available in Japan, the game will have a global release for the PC on Steam. As noted on the game's Steam page, however, the English language will not be supported. As such, the PC port, along with the Switch's, will only be available in Japanese.
