Palworld, an open-world survival game, is getting a cozy farming sim spin-off. Read on to learn more about the new game.
Palfarm Spin-Off is a Cozy Farming Sim
“Currently In Development by a New Team”
Earlier today, developer Pocketpair officially announced Palworld: Palfarm, a new spin-off that ditches the guns-blazing survival genre for the laid-back appeal of a farming simulation game. The announcement came alongside a brand-new trailer and Steam page, and based on comments across social media, it seems as though players are already prepared to trade their assault rifles for watering cans.
This new title deviates from the 2024 viral sensation’s survival gameplay by a large margin. Set still in Palpagos Islands, this game is billed as a "cozy life sim" where players can build their dream farm with the help of their pals. Drawing inspiration from popular farming games like Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing, Palfarm will feature changing seasons and even the ability to build relationships with local residents and Pals alike. The developers teased that daily conversations, working together, and even giving gifts could lead to "a special relationship," with Pals playing matchmaker.

Pals are partners in the truest sense of the word here, and the developers have humorously made it clear that "eating your own Pals is absolutely out of the question!" The official Steam page for the game highlights how Pals will use their unique abilities to help with various farming tasks. Some Pals might be skilled at planting seeds, others at watering crops, and some will even help with crafting and harvesting.
However, the Steam page also mentions that players will occasionally need to defend against "nasty pals that raid farms and ferocious Pals lurking underground." Combat in this game seems to be presented as a way to gather resources rather than just a means of survival, with the developers calling it "a form of harvesting in its own way."
The game will also feature a marketplace for players to buy and sell goods, and a black market where more questionable items like weapons and "suspicious fertilizers" can be found, though "the consequences of buying these items are entirely your own responsibility."
Multiplayer support is confirmed, a feature that's a staple in both Palworld and many farming sims. Players will be able to team up with friends to build a shared farm and explore the island together.
Palfarm comes at an interesting time for Pocketpair, as the studio is also focused on the future of Palworld. The company recently announced that the original game will officially exit Early Access and release its Version 1.0 in 2026. According to Pocketpair’s communications director, John "Bucky" Buckley, the team is currently concentrating on polishing the game and preparing "a massive amount of content" for the full launch, which is probably why Palfarm is being developed by "a new team" within Pocketpair.
This is, however, not the first spin-off to come out of Pocketpair’s Palworld. Earlier this year as an April Fool’s joke, the developers announced Pal♡world! ~More Than Just Pals~, a dating sim that might be too much of an acquired taste depending on who you ask. What started as a gag quickly became a reality, and the game now has its own Steam page.
The announcement comes shortly after Nintendo's reveal of Pokémon Pokopia, also a farming simulator, a development that is particularly interesting in light of recent events between Nintendo and Pocketpair. Currently, though, Palfarm is in development for PC and will be available on Steam. No specific release date has been announced as of yet.
