HUNTER×HUNTER Fighting Game in the Works Says Bushiroad
Bushiroad: More Details to Come in January
A new video game based on the popular anime franchise HUNTER×HUNTER is in the works, Bushiroad Games said in a tweet posted on Saturday.
"At the Bushiroad booth at #JumpFesta2024, we announced the decision to develop a full fledged fighting game of HUNTER x HUNTER!" the entertainment company's video game arm said in a tweet.
Bushiroad Games added that more details on the upcoming title will be revealed at the Bushiroad New Year's Grand Presentation 2024 event on January 6, 2024, at the Tokyo Dome City Hall.
HUNTER x HUNTER is an anime franchise drawn and written by Yoshihiro Togashi that began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1998.
Eighting to Co-Develop the HUNTER×HUNTER Fighting Game
Along with Bushiroad Games' involvement in the game, Eighting is also involved in its development. Eighting is known for co-developing the recent DNF Duel with Arc System Works, which was a fighting game based on the Dungeon Fighter IP. Other games that Eighting has worked on are both versions of Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and even the older Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars. We'll have to wait for January 6 to get more information on the game, but it's a plausible prediction for it to either follow the tag fighter formula like Marvel vs Capcom or the traditional fighter formula like DNF Duel.
