Square Enix To Provide Playable Demos, Fan Events, and Merch

Square Enix and Arc System Works unveiled their Tokyo Game Show 2025 lineups online and will host demo booths and fan events during the September 25–28 exhibition at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan.
Square Enix will showcase a mix of titles from Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, and new IPs at TGS 2025. Fans can go hands-on with the following titles:
● Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake
● Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles
● Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade
● The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales
● KILLER INN
● Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake
While FF XIV, Octopath Traveler 0, and DQ X Online do not have playable demos on-site, fans can tune in for their respective special stage presentations. DQ I & II HD-2D Remake and FF Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles will also have their own special stage events featuring developers and voice actors to talk about the upcoming titles.
Photospots themed around DQ and FF will be available to attendees, along with freebies ranging from a photocard of the Dragonlord to a Chocobo or Moogle bag. Fans who try the KILLER INN demo will receive a beta test participation code for its Steam playtest on October 3-13, 2025, while FF Tactics demo players can receive an original sticker themed around the remake.
DQ I & II HD Shows Off New Gameplay Ahead of TGS 2025
While the excitement is ramping up for the TGS 2025, publisher Square Enix and developer Artdink Corporation also released new footage and information for DQ I & II HD-2D Remake ahead of its appearance in the exhibition.
In the DQ I remake, though in the shoes of a lone hero, players will be facing multiple enemies at a time–similar to later entries in the series. The game also introduces new explorable areas, along with encounters featuring fairies and dwarves, neither of which appeared in the original title. Classic foes such as Robbin’ ‘Ood from DQ3 make a return, joined by brand-new enemy types.

Sigils and scrolls, previously exclusive to DQ II, are now available in both remakes. The five sigils (sun, star, moon, water, and soul) will have various effects during battle when certain conditions are met, while scrolls can teach abilities and spells, without the need to level up.
Both remakes add significant quality-of-life enhancements, including streamlined exploration with map markers, a mini-map, and autosaves, as well as battle options like adjustable speed and auto-battle. They also feature a newly remastered orchestral soundtrack and the option to switch between Japanese and English voice-overs.
Players can see more of DQ I & II HD-2D Remake at the Tokyo Game Show 2025 before its release on October 30, 2025, for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. To stay updated with the latest information on the collection, check out our article below!
